Octavia is a Montgomery County native and obtained her B.S. in Recreation and Parks Management from Frostburg State University. Since then, she has filled both her free time and career exploring and educating youth in nature's classroom. Octavia has spent time working in places like Colorado and Oregon as a wilderness therapy guide, Biological Science Technician, and youth outdoor ed counselor. In 2022, she completed a lifelong goal of hiking 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada along the Pacific Crest Trail. While at work, Octavia aims to encourage others to expand their comfort zone and reconnect with the natural world and others around them through unique programs and activities. If you’re looking for Octavia at Bretton Woods, you may find her leading a camp song, running the ziplines, or amongst the trees, taking a closer look at the pinecones and mushrooms.
